Your key, your model, your bill

PingPlug’s chatbot runs on an AI provider you choose: Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini or Groq. You supply the API key and the provider bills you directly for what it uses. Groq and Gemini both have free tiers, so it can genuinely cost nothing.

How it connects

You paste an API key from your chosen provider. It is encrypted before storage, and PingPlug calls that provider’s API directly when the chatbot needs to answer.

Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Groq are all supported, and you pick the model as well as the provider.

Answers from your knowledge base

The chatbot is given the questions and answers you wrote, so it says what you would say rather than inventing something plausible.

Works on every channel

The same configuration answers WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, and powers the website chat widget.

Tells you when it breaks

If the provider rejects the key or returns an error, you get an in-app notification naming that provider — rather than a chatbot that quietly stops answering customers.

What this is not

— There is no bundled AI allowance. Without your own key the chatbot does not run, and no plan changes that.
— The provider bills you directly. PingPlug does not resell tokens and takes no margin on them.
— Answer quality follows your knowledge base. A thin one produces a vague bot and no model setting compensates.
— PingPlug does not train any model on your data. It sends the conversation and your knowledge base to the provider you chose, under that provider’s terms — which are worth reading if your conversations are sensitive.

Questions

Which provider should I pick?

If cost matters most, Groq and Google Gemini have free tiers and are the obvious place to start. Beyond that it is a quality and latency trade-off you can test by switching, since the key and model are both settings rather than a rebuild.

Is AI included in my plan?

The chatbot feature is not gated by plan — free accounts can use it. What is not included is the AI itself: you bring a provider key and that provider bills you.

Is my customer data used to train an AI model?

Not by PingPlug. Conversations and your knowledge base are sent to the provider you chose so it can generate a reply, and what that provider does with it is governed by their terms. If that matters for your business, read them before choosing.
